Peak Capital launching partner in the #Fundright movement

Peak will support equal opportunities for female founders. Get up and join!
Under the name #FundRight Peak and 21 other progressive venture capital investors under which CapitalT, Dutch Founders Fund, INKEF Capital, Innovation Quarter, Keen Venture Partners, KPN Ventures, The Next woman, Slingshot, Tablomonto, VOC Capital Partners and TechLeap.NL are taking the joint initiative to lead to a more diverse startup ecosystem. We call on other VCs to also commit to this goal by signing the diversity statement.

The VC’s are concerned about the male dominance in the tech sector and the fact that currently only 1.6 percent of all Dutch venture capital is invested in women-led startups. This is despite the fact that research shows that diverse teams have a positive influence on performance. Moreover, investing in diversity is the right way to go.

At the same time, we also acknowledge that it is us, as VCs, who hold a responsibility towards successfully eliminating the difference between the amount of growth capital that male and female founders raise from Dutch startups. We as VCs also have a task and responsibility to invest more in female founders.

Statement
That is why Peak commits itself with the other progressive VCs to the following actions:

– Within 3 years of this statement, we want to have a varied mix within our venture capital companies and management teams of our current portfolio companies, including 35% women.
– A significant percentage of the companies in which we (co) invest must have been co-founded by a woman.
– We will participate in an annual report with the most important statistics on the gender diversity of Dutch venture capital investors and their portfolio companies. This report is made by TechLeap.NL
– We actively propagate our statement, share our experiences and approaches, with the ultimate goal of registering 100% of all Dutch venture capital investors by 2022.

With these promotions we take a position on #FundRight and invite other parties to subscribe to the statement. Together we can make a difference in achieving a diverse start-up ecosystem!
