In today’s episode of the Investment & Exits with Peak podcast, Peak’s very own Philippe Klitzing discusses with Jan Thomas from Startup Insider the latest news on AI governance, trail’s financing round and BOOOM’s model as a Solo GP.
The Munich-based technology start-up trail has closed a pre-seed financing round totalling 1.45 million euros. This round was led by CapitalT, with participation from NP-Hard Ventures, Mozilla Ventures, Common Magic and various business angels. Trail is developing an AI governance copilot that bridges the gap between interdisciplinary stakeholders to enable compliant AI development. The fresh capital will be invested in product development and team expansion to strengthen its market position as the leading solution for AI governance in Europe.
Felix Plapperer and his VC firm BOOOM have launched a new fund totalling 17 million euros. The Berlin-based fund invests in European B2B software start-ups in the pre-seed and seed phase, with a focus on supply chain and procurement technology. Investors include partners from VC firms such as Accel, Index and Creandum as well as founders of technology companies such as Celonis, King, Flix and sennder. The fund has already invested in 11 companies, including Timberhub, Ankar AI and Spread AI. Plapperer was previously a partner at Berlin-based VC SquareOne.
