Amsterdam, 1 December 2017 – This week, CheapCargo, the leading comparison site for sending parcels, has been taken over by PostNL. It concerns a full acquisition of the shares. CheapCargo has been an investment by Peak Capital since 2010. The company will continue to exist independently under the guidance of its current management.

CheapCargo has grown strongly in recent years. In 2010, the company received an investment from Peak Capital. This capital was mainly invested in the expansion of the team and the marketing activities. Johan van Mil, co-founder and Managing Partner of Peak Capital “CheapCargo stood out because of its strong team and healthy traction. We have worked closely together to scale up the business. Partly because of this, the team achieved a vigorous growth. ”

The acquisition by PostNL is a fair reward for this result. CheapCargo is now the fourth exit of investment fund Peak Capital that previously sold IENS to Tripadvisor (NASDAQ: TRIP) and Radionomy to Vivendi (EPA: VIV).

The activities of CheapCargo will be continued under their own independent identity and with the current board.
